Peppermint Bath Salts

Nothing invigorates the mind and body quite like the aroma of peppermint. It calms the nerves and eases tension in the body, grounding us when we’re stressed and lifting us up when we’re exhausted. It can help relieve headaches and muscle pain, and is a key ingredient in many topical remedies for these purposes.

Peppermint essential oil and leaf have been combined with pink Himalayan and epsom salts, both of which are renowned for their effects on the body. Salts have long been used in baths due to the body’s ability to absorb their minerals through the skin. Magnesium in particular is key in easing tension and cramping in the muscles, also aiding in sleep. These minerals are shown to stimulate circulation and promote cell regeneration and skin elasticity, reducing scarring and fine lines.

Bentonite clay is also rich in minerals, which assist the skin in rebuilding, drawing out impurities, and calming inflammation. Marshmallow root is renowned for its moistening, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal properties which are soothing to dry, irritated skin and relieve itchiness. It is a significant source of mucilage, a botanical form of hyaluronic acid which helps skin heal and reduces the appearance of scarring.

All bath salts come with a reusable muslin drawstring bag, to keep any loose plant matter contained. Simply pour the desired amount into the bag, tie it closed, and either tie the bag under the running faucet or toss it into the bath.
